| To make the serving bar truly portable, install a handle on the inside of the front panel of the unit. The handle should be centered under the frame along the top edge of the inside of the bar. |
Place the shelf into the unit by setting it on top of the small strips that you have nailed to the inside of the serving bar. |
Fill any nail holes with wood filler. |
| |
| Sand the wood filler to make it level. Give the entire unit a thorough sanding. |
It is now time to treat the unit with a finish. Be sure to select a product that will protect the unit from wet weather, the sun, mildew and discoloration. |
Apply the wood
protector with a paintbrush, working it into the surface
of the wood, especially on the rough-sawn plywood face.
A gel stain
and sealer will provide excellent coverage for the grooves
and minimize drips. |

| Apply the wood protector to the top of the bar with long, straight strokes, brushing with the grain. |
After the wood has dried, you have a portable outdoor serving bar that can withstand the weather elements and inevitable beverage or food spills. |
Congratulations! Your outdoor serving bar will be a wonderful addition to any party setting and its portability will allow for years of enjoyment and use. |
