| I chose to cover my
garage floor with a rollout vinyl floor covering called
G-Floor by Better Life Technologies. There's no
need to glue it down; just roll out on top of subflooring
(as shown here) or directly on top of concrete. |
Roll out the flooring and cut it
oversized; running it up the wall a few inches. |
Drop a piece of plywood behind
the extra flooring material and cut off most of the excess
material using a knife. The plywood will keep the
blade from dulling too quickly. |
| |
|
|
 |
 |
 |
| If it's cold, use a heat gun to
warm up the vinyl so it's more pliable. |
Using a wide putty knife as a straight
edge, push the flooring into the corners, and cut it to
fit. |
To fit the corners, make a vertical
cut in the flooring at the corner edge. |
| |
|
|
 |
 |
 |
| Use the putty knife to push the
flooring into place and complete the cut. |
Roll out the second sheet alongside
the first. |
To butt the sheets up alongside
each other, rather than overlapping, mark the seam with
a carpenter's pencil. |
| |
|
|
 |
 |
 |
| Roll back one edge of the flooring
and hold it in place with a piece of duct tape every few
feet. Then, repeat the process on the other side. |
Roll out a vinyl seaming strip
the full length of the floor, using the center line drawn
earlier as a guide. |
Use liner adhesive to glue the
vinyl seaming strip to the underside of the flooring. |
